Development Manager, Los Angeles

The Role: 

The Development Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the development cycle of projects commencing with the acquisition phase and concluding with the sale of the property.

The role requires an appreciation and understanding of all areas of real estate development and investment, including but not limited to financial analysis, design, permitting, construction, property finance, property law, and sales and marketing.

Responsibilities include focusing on seeking and analyzing investment opportunities and reporting to the President and CEO on a regular basis, providing advice and recommendations on said opportunities.

Current projects will be overseen and managed from their current phase through completion.

The Development Manager will provide management oversight for the phases of the construction projects and will manage task lists, monthly project management reporting and scheduling.

The Development Manager will build and maintain project budgets and schedules on a weekly basis, and will resolve complex planning, design and construction-related issues and review status and overall planning, design and project progress to relative to schedules.

Requirements for the position
The following qualifications and skills are essential to the role:
 - Minimum of 5 years of professional industry experience in real estate investment and development;
 - Relevant Bachelor’s degree in field of construction management and/or related;
 - Demonstrated track record of managing residential and mixed use development projects from acquisition through to      completion;
 - Experience in the entitlement process, design, legal, construction and marketing aspects of the development cycle;
 - Extensive experience with development opportunity assessment;
 - Proven ability to manage multiple projects at the same time;
 - Strong written, communication, organizational, analytic and interpersonal skills;
 - Ability to work independently or as part of a team and manage others.
Non-essential but preferred qualifications include:
 - Experience with real estate development and project management software platforms;
​ - Experience with design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
